Merchandise for Pure Michigan to be sold at Meijer stores across state
LANSING (AP) -- T-shirts, ball caps and other merchandise featuring the Pure Michigan logo is to be sold in 45 Meijer stores across the state.
The Pure Michigan advertising campaign promotes the state's beaches, golf courses and other destinations to potential tourists. Royalties from merchandise sales support the campaign.
The sale of Pure Michigan merchandise at Meijer stores was announced recently by the Michigan Economic Development Corp. Its president and CEO, Michael Finney, calls the pairing "a perfect fit" that is "designed to celebrate all that is embodied in the Pure Michigan brand."
The MEDC says the partnership with Grand Rapids-based Meijer Inc. marks the largest Pure Michigan retail account to date. All products will be made in the U.S. and, where possible, in Michigan.
