Meet the candidates

For the third judicial election cycle, the Oakland County Bar Association has partnered with the League of Women Voters Oakland Area and the Detroit Free Press to host judicial candidate fora in all races where there are contested seats.

The latest forum was conducted Tuesday, Sept. 21, at the Southfield Public Library. This forum featured candidates for the Oakland County 46th District Court including Debra Nance and Judge William J. Richards (incumbent).

“This is our way to educate the public about the candidates,” said OCBA President Jennifer Grieco of Neuman Anderson PC. “There are impartial questions from both our representatives of the Oakland County Bar Association and the Detroit Free Press to try to educate the residents about the upcoming judicial election to get them interested and informed.”

The fora are open to the public and are video recorded so that they may be aired on cable channels in the communities where the races take place. As soon as the videos are available, they will be loaded on the OCBA website, www.ocba.org, as streaming video.
