On Thursday, Nov. 11, at Cooley Law School’s Auburn Hills campus, Army Brigadier General and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Michael C. H. McDaniel was the featured Veterans Day speaker hosted by the Cooley Student Veterans Organization.

Before joining the Department of Defense, McDaniel was appointed by Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm as her advisor on Homeland Security, on February 5, 2003, and he served in that capacity until July 31, 2009, while simultaneously serving as the assistant adjutant general for Homeland Security for the Michigan National Guard. He is an adjunct professor for Cooley Law School, teaching courses in Homeland Security.
The program at the Auburn Hills campus also included the presentation of an American flag flown over the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., courtesy of 10th District Congresswoman Candice Miller.
