FLINT (AP) — A judge has ordered a second murder trial for a man charged with being a Michigan serial stabber after a victim’s DNA was found in the suspect’s Chevy Blazer.
Elias Abuelazam is accused of killing Arnold Minor in Flint on Aug. 2. Minor’s family applauded last Friday when Judge Nathaniel Perry said he heard enough evidence to send the case to Genesee County Circuit Court.
Michigan State Police scientist Kristin Schelling says Minor’s DNA was in blood found in Abuelazam’s vehicle and on his clothes.
Abuelazam now faces two murder trials and five attempted murder trials for attacks in and around Flint earlier this year. He faces another probable cause hearing in a murder case on Dec. 16.
The 34-year-old Abuelazam is charged with attempted murder in Toledo, Ohio.
