MOUNT CLEMENS (AP) — A 23-year-old Macomb County man faces sentencing later this month in the robbery of a legally blind man who was beaten with his own walking cane in Mount Clemens.
The Detroit Free Press and The Macomb Daily report David A. Anderson pleaded no contest in December to unarmed robbery and aggravated assault and is to be sentenced on Jan. 31 in circuit court.
Police say Anderson and his teenage brother jumped 50-year-old Daniel Perron in early August and stole $600 just after Perron cashed a disability check.
Local groups gave Perron $600 to replace the stolen money.
Anderson’s brother pleaded guilty to unarmed robbery in juvenile court.
