The Adams-Pratt Oakland County Law Library presented the latest People’s Law College lecture examining “Ten Myths About Filing for Bankruptcy” on Tuesday, March 29.
At the program, attorney Alyson Oliver (right) educated attendees on what is bankruptcy, who can file, how it affects a person’s debts and the recent changes in the law. The People’s Law College is sponsored by the Public Services Committee of the Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA).
Welcoming Oliver before the program was Lindsay Citrin, staff attorney with Thomas M. Cooley Law School and OCBA Public Service Committee chair.
The next People’s Law College will focus on “Thinking Ahead, Estate Planning for Seniors” on Tuesday, April 26. The workshop is open to the public. There is no charge to attend, however seating is limited to 40 people. The public is encouraged to register in advance with the OCBA. To register, call (248) 334-3400.
