Class of 14 mediators to graduate from Cooley/OMC program
Oakland Mediation Center (OMC) will graduate its sixth class of mediators from Thomas M. Cooley Law School (Cooley), Auburn Hills Campus, on Wednesday, August 3 at 4 p.m. at OMC's office in Bloomfield Hills. Doug Van Epps, Director, Office of Dispute Resolution, State Court Administrative Office, and Professor Dustin Foster, Professor, Thomas M. Cooley Law School will speak at the event.
The class of 14 students participated in this program as a result of a partnership between OMC and Cooley. The program was developed in an effort to increase the number of mediators available to resolve conflicts in Oakland County without the need for court intervention. Students were given the opportunity to learn and to practice mediation skills.
The 14 students who participated in the program are:
* Courtney Adams, Farmington Hills, MI.
* Megan Butucel, Dearborn Heights, MI.
* Krystina Doss, Livonia, MI.
* Timothy George, Quincy, MI.
* Tracy Greene, St. Clair Shores, MI.
* David Haverstick, Clarkston, MI.
* Michael Kingsley, Grosse Pointe, MI.
* Rachel Kuffa, St. Clair, MI.
* ReeJade Mitchell, Dayton, Ohio.
* Jeremy Nowland, Royal Oak, MI.
* Jeffrey Smith, Ferndale, MI.
* Peter Snyder, Washington, MI.
* Krystale Timmons, Commerce, MI.
* Steven Wright, Huntington, WV.
The program creates a win-win for OMC and Cooley by providing experiential training and practical experience to Cooley students while developing highly-trained mediators.
Instructors for the program were Bonnie Hanes and Earlene Baggett-Hayes. The graduation will be held at the OMC office, 550 Hulet Dr, Suite 102, Bloomfield Hills. For additional information, call OMC at (248) 338-4280.
