Longtime attorney joins firm in Bloomfield Hills

Gordon Snavely--an attorney specializing in estate planning, probate work, and real estate law--will become Of Counsel to the firm of Witzke, Berry, & Carter PLLC in Bloomfield Hills this week. The firm, headed by partners Michael Witzke and Christopher Berry, specializes in estate planning, business planning, probate, and elder law work. It is located at 2550 S. A native of Royal Oak, Snavely earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Detroit, and began practicing law in 1968. Last fall, Snavely was honored by the Oakland County Board of Commissioners for "extraordinary voluntary contributions and unparalleled service to Oakland County" for his work as chairman of the Claims Review Committee. The five-member panel reviews matters where the potential legal exposure to the county exceeds $25,000 in damages, and typically meets on a quarterly basis. In addition to his work with the Claims Review Committee, Snavely has served on the Oakland County Zoological Authority and the Central Michigan University Development Board, and has taught real estate law at Oakland University.
