Local girl meets last of 115 elected reps: Obama
DETROIT (AP) -- A 13-year-old Michigan girl has finally completed her mission to meet all 115 of her elected officials, thanks to President Barack Obama.
Lilly Arbour of the Detroit suburb of Rochester Hills met Obama on Monday in advance of the president's Labor Day speech in Detroit.
Lilly attended Obama's State of Union in January with U.S. Rep. Gary Peters, getting a chance to meet Vice President Joe Biden and leave only the president missing from her list.
With help from Peters, D-Bloomfield Township, Lilly was able to meet Obama and walk away with proof -- his signature on a list of list of her 115 elected officials.
He wrote: "Lilly -- Dream Big Dreams."
She says it's "great" to bring an account of her meeting back to school with her.
