On Tuesday, Oct. 18, at the Wixom Senior Center in Wixom, the Citizen's Alliance of the Oakland County Probate and Circuit Courts will conduct a free seminar for senior citizens and their families from 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. explaining the Probate Court's role in wills, estates, trusts, guardianships, and conservatorships.
Titled "Removing The Mysteries of Probate Court," the seminar will provide attendees with information on the advantages and disadvantages of "avoiding probate," when and how to use a will, trust and/or Power of Attorney, how to begin probate proceedings, and when to consider use of guardianships and conservatorships.
Panelists will include Probate Register Jill Koney Daly from the Oakland County Probate Court; Estate Settlement Officer Lynn Gross from JPMorgan Chase Bank; and private practice attorney Sara Schimke from Baron, Rosenberg, Mayoras, & Mayoras PC.
Materials will be available on trusts, estates, and the legal rights of senior citizens. Adequate time will be available for questions.
To register, contact the Wixom Senior Center at 248-624-0870.
