Donations for 'Power of the Purse' are being sought
Great Lakes Caring and the Women's Leadership Council for United Way of Jackson County are asking for support from local businesses for its second annual Power of the Purse fundraising event.
Companies interested in contributing to this event may donate purses filled with goodies that will be auctioned off or promotional items for swag bags that will be given to event attendees.
Power of the Purse will take place on Friday, Nov. 11 from 6 p.m. to 9:30p.m. at the Country Club of Jackson.
All proceeds from the event will help provide art, dance and theatre classes to at-risk youth through Jackson School of the Arts and academic assistance to homeless teens to help them graduate from high school through Do'chas' II Counseling.
For more information or to make a donation to this year's Power of the Purse event, contact Melissa Callison at mkcallison@cmsenergy.com.
"Jackson Women's Leadership Council is an affinity group for women who share a mutual commitment to the success of women and children in our county," a spokesperson said.
