Mentorship Kick-off

The Women’s Bar Association (WBA), Oakland County region of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, conducted its Mentorship Kick-Off Event on Thursday, Oct. 13, at Lelli’s of Auburn Hills.

The WBA’s mentorship program is an opportunity to meet fellow female (and soon-to-be) colleagues in a relaxed environment.  Mentors and mentees communicate by phone, e-mail, or in person to talk about class choice, job searches, career options, and anything else a new attorney might be facing.  The goal of the mentorship program is to empower women with professional and social guidance.

Among those taking part in the kick-off event were (seated, left to right) Cooley law students Purna Krishnamoorthy and Neha Binayak, along with (standing, left to right) West Bloomfield attorney Flo Affatato, Farmington Hills attorney Channelle Kizy-White, co-chair of the WBA mentorship committee, and WBA President Stacey King of Garan Lucow Miller PC.
