County's PROSPER Magazine hits airports

PROSPER, the official county magazine spotlighting Oakland County as a business and quality of life destination, is now available at Detroit Metropolitan Airport and Flint's Bishop Airport.
In its seventh year, the free color magazine features Oakland County communities, education and businesses in its 76 pages. The 2012 edition also focuses on Medical Main Street, the county's initiative to brand the region as a health care and life science center; the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine; Oakland Community College and Automation Alley.
"PROSPER is a first-class publication," County Executive L. Brooks Patterson said Tuesday. "It highlights Oakland County's great communities, fine schools and businesses. It's a lot to read. Don't miss it."
The magazine includes sections on Main Street Oakland County, international businesses and details special events in 2012, including the Fire & Ice Fest the last weekend of January; the Oakland Edge adult hockey tournament on April 20-22; the Uptown Film Festival in Birmingham in March, the U.S. Senior Open Championship July 12-15 and the Brooksie Way Half Marathon on Sept. 30.
The magazine is funded entirely by support from Oakland County communities, businesses and organizations. It will be available in January in all Oakland County public libraries, selected communities, schools, upscale hotels and luxury suites at The Palace of Auburn Hills. It was developed by Skidmore Studio.
