Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Edward Sosnick (center) was honored with the Heart of HAVEN award on Thursday, Jan. 19, during the HAVEN Celebration of Strength at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham.
HAVEN President and CEO Beth Morrison (right) was happy to congratulate Sosnick along with Local 4 reporter Paula Tutman (left) who was honored with the Voice for Victims Award.
“Tonight is HAVEN’s annual Celebration of Strength where we honor members of the community who have dedicated, in Judge Sosnick’s case his career, toward victims’ right and domestic and sexual violence issues,” noted Morrison.
Sosnick has been a supporter of HAVEN as a city attorney, prosecuting attorney, and now a judge. He has been instrumental in leading Michigan and Oakland County in the creation of programming, training, and collaboration around the crimes of sexual assault and domestic violence.
In addition to past service on the HAVEN Board and various committees, Sosnick currently serves on the Michigan Domestic Violence Prevention and Treatment Board. He is a founding member of the Oakland County Coordinating Council Against Domestic Violence.
