Open to all Michigan Law Students
The Thomas M. Cooley Law School graduate program in intellectual law and the intellectual property law section of the State Bar of Michigan are co-sponsors of the second annual Michigan Innovation and IP Legal Writing Competition. All law students in Michigan are invited to submit entries. The competition seeks to recognize outstanding original works of legal scholarship in the fields of intellectual property and innovation law.
The competition is open to students enrolled in J.D. degree programs at any ABA-accredited Michigan law school between Jan. 1, 2011 and May 1, 2012. Individuals wishing to participate in the competition must submit their work electronically no later than May 15. Prizes being awarded include: first place, $500; second place, $300 and third place $200. Each of the top three will have their work published in the IPLS Proceedings journal and receive their choice of complimentary registration for the 38th Annual Intellectual Property Summer Institute, July 19-21, 2012, or 2013 Spring Intellectual Property Seminar.
