Postal Service worker convicted of taking bribes
DETROIT (AP) -- A jury has convicted a U.S. Postal Service employee of corruption in an investigation of bribes and the repair of mail trucks in southeastern Michigan.
Greg Gorski of Canton Township was among five people charged in the case but the only defendant to choose a trial. He was convicted of all charges Wednesday in federal court in Detroit.
Gorski supervised the repair and maintenance of mail trucks, first in Detroit and then in Ann Arbor. He was accused of taking cash, sports tickets, free lap dances and a van in exchange for sending vehicles to Metro Diesel, a garage in Detroit.
Gorski'as attorney told jurors that Gorski sent trucks to Metro Diesel because it did good work, not because of payoffs.
