Award honors good soul

On Tuesday, Feb. 14, U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Damon J. Keith (far right) hosted the 25th Annual Soul Food Luncheon in his chambers at the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse in Detroit.

The luncheon is a celebration of leadership and achievement recognizing a local, outstanding African American.

This year’s Soul and Spirit Humanitarian Award honored Detroit Mayor Dave Bing (second from right).

Among the many attendees congratulating Bing were (left to right) Michigan Governor Rick Snyder and U.S. District Court Chief Judge Gerald Rosen, Eastern District of Michigan.

In its 25th year, the Soul Food luncheon continues to promote good will and camaraderie among local dignitaries, corporations, and business leaders throughout the community.
