Court date set in Flint, Detroit money disputes

LANSING (AP) -- The Michigan appeals court will hear arguments May 3 in cases related to poor city finances in Detroit and Flint. The issue is whether the state review teams that looked at the books in both cities should have met in public. The review in Flint led to the appointment of emergency manager Michael Brown. In Detroit, city and state officials reached a major agreement last week on tackling finances without a manager. The court hearing will be held in Lansing with judges William Whitbeck, Peter O'Connell and Michael Kelly. Published: Tue, Apr 17, 2012
