Ingham County Bar Foundation Honor Roll

By David Lick Foundation Vice President Approximately six years ago a number of lawyers founded the Ingham County Bar Foundation to promote access to justice, expand the availability of legal services, to support local charitable organizations, to promote continuing legal education and to foster the honor and integrity of the profession of law. Each year the Foundation raises money to give back to the community and further the foundation's mission. In an effort to grow the membership of the Foundation, the Board of Directors passed a resolution that any firm of five or more attorneys that pays dues for 100% of their attorneys pays $20 per lawyer instead of $25 as annual dues. With firms of more than one location, it applied to attorneys located in the greater Lansing area. The Foundation's beneficiaries, to name a few, have been the Peer Mediation Programs in the Lansing School District, Access to Justice Center in Ingham County and the Ingham County Veterans Treatment Court. While almost every judge and lawyer in the tri-county area are committed to enhancing the image of the profession and recognize the need to give back to the community, there are a few law firms that have met the challenge of 100% membership and should be considered as the Honor Roll Firms for 2011-2012. Those firms are: Bernick, Radner & Ouellette, PC Dickinson Wright Fahey, Schultz, Burzych, Rhodes, PLC Farhat & Story, PC Foster Swift Collins & Smith, PC Knaggs, Harter, Brake & Schneider, PC Oade Stroud & Kleiman, PC Sinas, Dramis, Brake, Boughton & McIntyre, PC The Gallagher Law Firm, PLC Willingham Cote, PC The Ingham County Bar Foundation also appreciates the individual attorneys who have contributed to the Foundation. The ICBF Board members are George Zulakis, President; Nan E. Casey; Michael E. Cavanaugh, Shauna L. Dunnings, James F. Graves, Richard L. Hillman, Max R. Hoffman, Susan L. LeDuc, David M. Lick, Peter S. Sheldon, Webb A. Smith and Thomas E. Woods. Published: Mon, Apr 30, 2012
