CFH Named Agency of the Year by MSHDA

The Center for Financial Health (CFH) was awarded the Housing Counseling Agency of the Year by the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) on April 24, 2012 at the Building Michigan's Communities Conference. CFH was recognized for its innovative approach to assisting homeowners in Lansing.
"We have had an amazing opportunity to affect change and have a real impact on the lives of individuals and the shaping of our community. We are fortunate to be able to do this work everyday," said CFH Executive Director Denise Keiser. "We know that it takes many entities to build a strong community, and we are just one part of a much larger picture."
Jeff Burke, president of the Greater Lansing Association of Realtors, works with CFH and their homebuyer education program for several years and says, "I have worked with CFH for several years and it has done an incredible job of assisting and educating homebuyers about the complex process of purchasing a home. I love working with their clients because I'm assured that the homebuyer is entering the process with the skills of a successful homeowner."
"CFH has been a great partner in revitalizing Lansing neighborhoods," said Ingham County Treasurer and Land Bank Chair Eric Schertzing. "CFH is a tremendous asset to potential homebuyers and struggling homeowners."
"In the last three years, HUD-approved housing counseling agencies have assisted more than 8 million families nationwide with their housing needs. We've come a long way back since the housing market collapse, but we still need to invest in the work done by agencies like CFH," Keiser said.
