Korean auto incubator launched, Dykema named as legal advisor

On May 14, Dykema was appointed as a member of the Korean Auto Parts Park (KAPP) Advisory Group. KAPP, a business incubator for lower-tier Korean auto suppliers, has been launched jointly by the Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and the Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE).
KAPP is designed to help facilitate working relationships between Detroit-based auto companies working directly with Korean parts manufacturers.
Dykema is one of four advisors--and the only law firm--that will provide strategic counsel and assistance to KAPP and to those businesses housed in the facility.
Three members of Dykema's Korean Business Team--Jin-Kyu Koh, Hoon Noh and Paul Lee--attended ribbon-cutting ceremonies at the opening of the KAPP in Troy.
The event was attended by a number of dignitaries including Seung-Keun Oh, the senior executive VP of KOTRA from Korea; Doug Smith, senior VP from the MEDC; and Katherine Worthern, head of International Purchasing from GM; as well as many executive management members of Korean companies, including Mobis, Mando and Kwangjin.
