Breakfast welcomes corporate counsel

 The D. Augustus Straker Bar Association conducted its 16th annual Corporate Counsel Breakfast titled “The Inclusivenes Imperative: Why Diversity and Inclusion Are Key to Global Competitiveness” on Friday, May 18, at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Auburn Hill.

Among those taking part were (left to right) Alan Venable of Venable Law PLLC; Southfield attorney Erica Bell; Kym Kinchen of Clark Hill; Angelique Strong Marks of Behr America; Reginald Turner of Clark Hill; Michelle A. Carter of Allied Human Services; Vernon Baker of Meritor Inc.; Stephanie Jones of General Motors; and keynote speaker Joe West, president and CEO of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association.

“The purpose of this meeting is to talk about maintaining diversity and inclusiveness with respect to inside and outside counsel,” Kynchen said.  

This event kicked off the National Bar Association Region VI 2012 Conference which took place May 18-20 at Cooley.
