The SAVE Task Force (Serving Adults Who Are Vulnerable and /or Elderly) hosted its seventh annual International Day of Elder Abuse Awareness Event at the Oakland County Commissioners’ Auditorium on Friday, June 15.
This event draws attention to the widespread and heinous crimes against elderly and vulnerable citizens and also recognizes the positive actions being taken by individuals and groups to combat abuse and exploitation.
The keynote speaker was Michigan Department of Human Services Director Maura Corrigan (third from right). She thanked SAVE members for their advocacy and testimony along with others across the state which has resulted in a package of ten bills that the governor signed recently.
