Board of Commissioners begins budget process for fiscal year 2013/2015

The Oakland County Board of Commissioners have scheduled a series of meetings to review county departments and operational expenses. As part of the budget process, the Board of Commissioners will be looking at all areas of the budget in an effort to create a fiscally sound budget policy.
All meetings are open to the public and will be held in the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Committee Room A, located at 1200 North Telegraph Road in Pontiac. The 2013 Finance Committee Budget Hearings are scheduled as follow for FY 2012-FY2015:
* Thursday, July 26, (following Finance Meeting 10 a.m.)--County Executive Office, Circuit Court, District Court, Probate Court, Water Resource Commissioner.
* Thursday, August 16, (following regular Finance Committee 10 a.m.)--Treasurer's Office, County Clerk, County Sheriff, Prosecutor's Office, Oakland County Board of Commissioners.
* Thursday, August 30, (following regular Finance Committee 10 a.m.)--Budget wrap-up: review and amendments to recommended budget.

Long (R), Commissioner Kathy Crawford (R), Commissioner David W. Potts (R), Commissioner Nancy Quarles (D), Commissioner Helaine Zack (D), and Commissioner Bill Dwyer (R).
