Board of Commissioners honors Deputy County Executive Daddow

The Oakland County Board of Commissioners presented a proclamation to Deputy County Executive Robert Daddow on Thursday, June 21, in recognition of his recent Central Michigan University College of Business Administration Distinguished Alumni Award and for his outstanding contributions to the county in maintaining its three-year budget and AAA bond rating.

“It’s an honor to receive this recognition from the Board of Commissioners,” Daddow said. “The commissioners are true partners when it comes to achieving our three-year balanced budget.”

Daddow’s excellence in fiscal management makes him one of the most sought after budget experts in Michigan. As a member of Governor Snyder’s transition team, he assisted with the revision of Public Act 4, commonly known as Michigan’s Emergency Manager Law. His work with Oakland County’s unprecedented three-year line-item budget has been integral to the county sustaining its AAA bond rating.

“Bob and his solid staff have made Oakland County the poster child for budgeting in tough times,” said Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson. “This budget team continues to rack up financial reporting awards and is cited by Wall Street as among the reasons Oakland County still enjoys the benefits of its AAA bond rating.”

Board Chairman Michael Gingell agrees. “Bob is a driving force in the county’s continued financial success. We are grateful to have such an intelligent, insightful, and experienced individual working on behalf of the citizens of Oakland County.”

Daddow began his career with Oakland County in 1993 as director of Management and Budget. Patterson appointed him deputy county executive in 2000.
