A judicial candidate forum featuring the August primary candidates for Oakland County 46th District Court was conducted Tuesday, June 26, at the Southfield Public Library.
Taking part in the forum were candidates (left to right) Debra Nance, William R. Seikaly, Towana Tate, Stephen P. Korn, Donna M. Posey, and Charesa D. Johnson.
The candidates are throwing their hats into the ring for the seat on the bench being vacated by Chief Judge Susan M. Moiseev who is retiring at the end of her term. The 46th District Court encompasses Southfield, Lathrup Village, Beverly Hills, Franklin Village, Bingham Farms, and Southfield Township.
The forum was the result of a partnership—now in its fourth judicial cycle—among the Oakland County Bar Association, the League of Women Voters Oakland Area, and the Detroit Free Press that aims to sponsor judicial candidate forums in all contested judicial races in Oakland County.
The forum was open to the public and was video recorded so that it may be aired on cable channels in the communities where the races take place.
As soon as the recording is available, it is loaded on the OCBA website at http://www.ocba.org/OCBA-Partners-to-Host-Judicial-Candidate-Fora.id.2521.htm as streaming video.
