PONTIAC (AP) — Retired NHL player Darren McCarty and his wife have dropped the last of a series of personal protection orders against four former friends.
The veteran of 15 NHL seasons who won four Stanley Cups with the Red Wings claimed harassment by the three women and one man. An order involving ex-McCarty girlfriend Tonya Juhl was dropped Wednesday. Orders against the other two women and the man were dismissed earlier.
McCarty and his wife Sheryl claimed the four tried to draw McCarty back into a partying lifestyle. McCarty has said harassment has included death threats.
Juhl challenged the order in Oakland County Circuit Court. She earlier testified she didn’t threaten the McCartys.
McCarty spent 13 seasons with the Red Wings. He retired in 2009.
