Five students receive LSAT Prep Scholarships from Warner Norcross

Twin brothers are among five minority students at four Michigan universities who have received Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) Preparation scholarships from Warner Norcross & Judd LLP. Recipients Raymond D. Diggs and Richard D. Diggs are the oldest of six brothers in their family and grew up attending Detroit Public Schools. At the age of 16, their law school dreams began to take shape after the twins took first and second place in an essay contest that was conducted by the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association. The twins were given the opportunity to meet several attorneys in the Detroit community, visit multiple law firms in the area and learn how to turn their career aspirations into a plan for achievement. Since winning the essay contest, the pair have completed bachelor's degrees from Wayne State University and are currently enrolled in the Teach for America program. They will spend the next two years teaching in the Detroit Public Schools before entering law school. The additional scholarship recipients are: * Irma Cruz, Hope College. * Bri'An Davis, University of Michigan. * Sungjin Yoo, Calvin College. The Warner Norcross program, now in its fifth year, provides scholarships to enable selected minority students at Michigan colleges to attend a study course designed to prepare them to take the LSAT. Studies have shown that students who take a formal LSAT prep course score higher on the test. The LSAT program is one of two scholarship initiatives offered by the firm to promote diversity in the legal profession.
