March of Dimes partners with Macy's for annual 'Shop for a Cause' this Saturday

Macy's and March of Dimes invite customers to participate in the seventh annual "Shop For A Cause" charity shopping event at Southeast Michigan Macy's stores on Saturday, Aug. 25. "Shop For A Cause" is Macy's one-day-only shopping event that was created to support local charities' fundraising efforts, which has helped raise more than $42 million for charitable organizations across the country since 2006.
"This sale is a great way for families to shop for their fall necessities or get a jump on their holiday shopping and give back at the same time," said March of Dimes Volunteer Board member Sandra User Green of Law Offices of Green & Green PLLC in Farmington Hills. "Macy's has a long history of supporting community endeavors. We cannot thank them enough for their commitment to raising funds and awareness to support the research and educational programs of the March of Dimes."
On Saturday, Aug. 25, customers making a purchase with a "Shop For A Cause" savings pass will receive 25% off regular, sale and clearance merchandise, as well as 10% off watches, furniture, mattresses and area rugs, plus are eligible to win a $500 gift card. Shopping passes sold at Macy's stores and macys.com are $5 each, and will benefit March of Dimes. The organization will receive 100% of every ticket sold at Macy's stores and on macys.com. Shopping passes are only sold on macys.com on August 25, but customers may purchase shopping passes in advance at all Macy's locations. By purchasing a shopping pass in store, customers can support March of Dimes while enjoying a day of discounts, entertainment, special events. (See shopping pass for discount exclusions and restrictions. No purchase necessary to participate in sweepstakes. Official sweepstakes rules including alternate means of entry are available at any Macy's location.)
Last year alone, Macy's raised $3.2 million for the March of Dimes mission to give moms full-term pregnancies and healthy babies.
