Mark A. Davis, president and chief executive officer of Howard & Howard Attorneys PLLC, spoke to a group of law students at Wayne State University Law School in Detroit on Monday, Aug. 27. He discussed what they could expect their first year on the job as an associate in a private practice setting, as well as advice regarding the interviewing process.
Davis received a B.A. in Accounting from Michigan State University in 1984, and his law degrees from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1987 and Wayne State University Law School in 1991. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and its sections on Business and Real Estate Law.

The law firm of Warner, Norcross, & Judd LLP is honored to acknowledge that 12 attorneys from the Southfield and Macomb County offices have been named Super Lawyers in the seventh annual publication of Michigan Super Lawyers Magazine, while four attorneys were recognized as Rising Stars.

Cruse was elected as a Super Lawyer before he died last month after a long battle against pancreatic cancer. This was his third year to be recognized with this honor.
Sarah C. Lindsey, Jennifer Watkins and Deborah J. Williamson were recognized as Rising Stars. Rising Stars must be under the age of 40 or in practice for fewer than 10 years and have attained a high degree of peer recognition and personal achievement.

Adrienne Dresevic, founding partner of Southfield-based The Health Law Partners, has been appointed chair of the American Bar Association (ABA) Publications Committee, liaison from the publications committee to The Health Lawyer Editorial Board and chair of the Stark & Anti-Kickback Toolkit Editorial Board. Founding partner, Carey Kalmowitz made the announcement.
As chair of the Publications Committee, Dresevic will work with section project managers to actively increase the number of publications produced by cultivating an encouraging atmosphere with the ABA Interest Groups and strong support from the Publications Committee.
Dresevic will serve as a facilitator and ensure open communication in her role as liaison between The Health Lawyer Editorial Board and the Publications Committee.
Serving as chair of the Stark & Anti-Kickback Toolkit Editorial Board, Dresevic will work toward increasing subscriptions by improving and updating the toolkit from prior years.
An avid writer and speaker, Dresevic has published more than 60 articles on healthcare law and presents at national conferences throughout the year. Dresevic's practice encompasses the full spectrum of healthcare law and has specialized her practice in Stark and fraud abuse. She received her law degree from Wayne State University Law School.

For the second year, Butzel Long attorney and shareholder Rebecca S. Davies will be a featured speaker during a panel presentation at the North American Transportation Employee Relations Association's (NATERA) 26th Annual Conference October 21-23, in St. Pete's Beach, Fla. Davies is a NATERA Board member.
The title for the panel presentation is: "The Workplace and the EEOC Regulatory Agenda - An Intimate Discussion." The program is an opportunity for attendees to interact with Constance Barker, commissioner, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and a panel of regulatory experts.
"I've had the great honor this year to serve as a featured speaker with three Commissioners of the EEOC including Victoria Lipnic, Chai Feldbaum and now Constance Barker," added Davies. "It is a career highlight to be featured along with such revered EEOC leaders."
Davies concentrates her practice primarily in the areas of employment law and commercial litigation. She represents employers in federal and state court litigation and before state and federal administrative agencies. She regularly counsels employers regarding compliance under federal and state employment laws (including FLSA, FMLA, ADA and Title VII), drafts policies and procedures, and advises on preventative strategies.
Davies' objective is to assist clients in implementing preventative strategies to avoid lawsuits. To accomplish this goal, she is a frequent author and lecturer, not only for client in-house trainings and publications, but also outside organizations, such as Walsh College, the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, Automation Alley and American Society of Employers.
Davies earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan at Dearborn and her law degrees from the Detroit College of Law and Wayne State University Law School.
