For a firm that specializes in family law, Victor & Victor of Bloomfield Hills continues to place even greater value on the two words that are joined at the legal hip.
The firm, which was founded by Richard Victor and now includes his two sons, Daniel and Ronald, has added another family member to the legal letterhead.
Joshua Kaplan, a graduate of Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York and a newly admitted attorney to the State Bar of Michigan, will join his uncle and two cousins in the family law firm that recently was recognized by U.S. News & World Report.
Prior to joining Victor & Victor, Kaplan worked for the Fidelity National Law Group in New York and served as a research analyst for the Center for Terrorism Research, as well as the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, in Washington, D.C.
On another front, for the third year in a row, Victor & Victor has been cited by U.S News & World Report as one of the nation’s best family law firms.
“The third edition of these rankings features law firms given consistently impressive performance ratings by clients and peers,” said Richard Victor, noting that his firm earned a coveted “Tier One” ranking. “Achieving a high ranking is a special distinction that signals a unique combination of excellence and breadth of experience.”
Individually, Victor has been named a diplomate of the American College of Family Trial Lawyers. The ACFTL is a select group of 100 of the top family law trial lawyers from across the U.S. The 100 diplomates, all members of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, are chosen based upon their recognized litigation skills and courtroom abilities.
Daniel Victor, an alumnus of Vermont Law School and Michigan State University, recently was selected as an “Up and Coming Lawyer for 2012” by Michigan Lawyers Weekly, as well as a Top Lawyer for 2013 by DBusiness Magazine. He and his father also were named to “Best Lawyers in America” for 2013.
In addition, partner Ronald Victor recently was elected to the Board of Directors of the Detroit Institute of Arts, Founders Junior Council. The FJC works with young Michigan professionals to organize a wide range of educational and social programs that promote interest in the DIA’s extraordinary collections of art.
