54A Court Closure

Due to the City of Lansing's budget shortfall, resulting in the temporary shut down of Lansing City Hall, the 54-A District Court will be closed from Monday, December 24, 2012, until Wednesday, January 2, 2013. We deeply regret any inconvenience caused by the closure and will work with those affected to minimize its impact. No filings or pleadings can be accepted at the Court during closure. However, dates that the Court is closed will not be counted toward payment due dates, late penalties, or in the computation of time for time-sensitive pleadings. Payments by check or money order may be deposited in the City's Night Depository drop-box located on Capital Avenue, between Michigan Ave and Ottawa Street. Payments must include the defendant's name and case number. Payments due while the Court is closed will not be late as long as payment is received by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. The Court will accept pleadings filed in person until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012. Traffic, parking and criminal payments will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. Published: Thu, Dec 20, 2012
