Parks Title has been approved as a vendor in the Homeowner Protection Fund which is Michigan's $97.2 million piece of the National Mortgage Settlement.
Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette entered into a settlement with five leading bank mortgage servicers aimed at providing relief and reform in mortgage loan servicing. Parks Title is approved to participate in two new Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) programs:
* Homebuyer Assistance--$15 million has been allocated for the Homebuyer Assistance grant program that will assist first time homebuyers purchasing a single-family owner occupied principal residence. Non-military homebuyers are eligible for grants up to $3,000 while active military and veterans are eligible for grants up to $5,000.
* HARP Refinance--$5 million has been allocated to borrowers applying for the Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP). Borrowers may be eligible to receive $500 toward their closing costs. Grants support refinances for single-family/one unit, owner occupied principal residences.
