Bashara moved to prison in Manistee

MANISTEE, Mich. (AP) -- A suburban Detroit man who said he tried to arrange the killing of a handyman charged with his wife's slaying has been moved to a prison in Michigan's northwestern Lower Peninsula.
WDIV-TV and The Detroit News report that Robert Bashara now is housed at Oaks Correctional Facility in Manistee, about 50 miles southwest of Traverse City.
Marketing executive Jane Bashara was found strangled in her Mercedes-Benz in a decrepit Detroit neighborhood in January 2012, miles from their home in Grosse Pointe Park.
Bashara in October pleaded guilty to soliciting Joseph Gentz's murder. Bashara was sentenced in December to at least 80 months in prison.
Gentz pleaded guilty last month to second-degree murder in the strangulation. He returns to court to be sentenced Jan. 29.
