People's Law College conducted

The Oakland County Bar Association’s People’s Law College was conducted on Tuesday, April 2, at the Jack & Patti Salter Community Center in Royal Oak.

This free event is designed to help educate members of the community on different areas of the law and to assist attendees in finding answers to their legal questions with first-hand insight from Oakland County attorneys.

There were four seminar sessions on the topics of Landlord/Tenant Issues; Social Security Benefits, Retirement, and Disability; Driver’s License Restoration and Expungements; and Debt Solution. A free Ask-a-Lawyer session was also held for the duration of the program. The Ask-a-Lawyer portion allows attendees to speak privately with a volunteer attorney about their personal questions and concerns. The attorneys are able to discuss topics including juvenile, family, probate, criminal, general civil and landlord/tenant matters.
