'How to Improve Your Practice of Criminal Law' presented by FBA
The Criminal Practice Committee of the Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, will present a special program on "How to Improve Your Practice of Criminal Law" on Tuesday, April 23, beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse in Detroit.
This program features distinguished panelists who deal with criminal cases at a variety of levels and in a variety of capacities. Panel members include: U.S. District Court Judge Paul D. Borman; U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Mark Randon; Julie Owens, case manager to U.S. District Court Chief Judge Gerald E. Rosen; Lisa Bartlett, case manager to U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Mona Majzoub; and Brad Darling, law clerk to U.S. District Court Judge Terrence G. Berg.
The panel members will provide practical tips on the everyday "dos and don'ts" of federal criminal practice. They will advise on how to work within the system to insure that arguments and positions are best received. Like the recently-completed Pre-Trial Services program, this program will substantially benefit defense counsel and AUSAs.
Participants are invited to bring their own lunch. To register online, visit www.fbamich.org and click on "events."
