On Wednesday, April 17, the Oakland County Board of Commissioners honored Judy Cunningham (center) for her outstanding tenure as the first woman to serve as the county’s corporation counsel and her more than 30 years of work at Oakland County.
Cunningham rose through the ranks serving as a full-time law clerk for Oakland County Circuit Court in 1982, before being promoted as deputy court administrator and subsequently circuit court administrator in 1988. In 1999, Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson appointed her to the position of corporation counsel.
At the April 17 board meeting, Cunningham received a proclamation from (left to right) Commissioner Marcia Gershenson, Chairman Michael J. Gingell, Vice Chairman Jeff Matis, and Commissioner Shelley Goodman Taub.
