Law firm will give a $50 gift card for each gun

DETROIT (AP) -- They're calling it "Groceries for Guns."
Anyone who turns in an unloaded gun will get a $50 Meijer gift card Saturday at the New St. Paul Tabernacle Church of God in Christ in Detroit.
The exchange is sponsored by a Southfield law firm, Goodman Acker. Gerald Acker says he and partner Barry Goodman are tired of guns taking lives and destroying families and communities.
The exchange will be staffed by sheriff's deputies and church volunteers. The gift cards will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with no questions asked.
The church is at 15340 Southfield Service Dr. in Detroit.
