Foundation presents 2013 scholarships awards

The Women Lawyers Association of Michigan Foundation recently presented scholarship awards totaling $30,000 to 10 outstanding women law students attending Michigan law schools.
The competitive scholarships were awarded to students who demonstrated leadership on women's issues, according to a WLAM official. This year, the awardees received a 20 percent increase in scholarship amounts, due to the generosity of donors.
Now in its 17th year, the WLAM Foundation's scholarship program has awarded 195 law students with close to $440,000 to support their law school educations. Specially named awards exist for scholarships supported by large and ongoing donations from General Motors and the Dickinson Wright Women's Network, and for a scholarship named for former WLAMF Treasurer Kimberly M. Cahill. Profiles of the 2013 WLAMF awardees appear on the WLAM Foundation's website, www.wlamfoundation.org.
