Bike Share fundraiser June 26th

By Eric Schertzing Ingham County Treasurer & Land Bank Chair For 2 years the Land Bank has been working with many partners to bring Bike Share to Lansing. Lynne Martinez has been our dynamic coordinator. A 3 month Bike Share pilot is kicking off August 4th. We have locked down commitments for $17,700 of the $41,500 in funding. We are reaching out to our friends for Charter Memberships for individuals and groups. Sponsorships are also being solicited for the bike share locations and the bikes. A community fundraiser is scheduled for June 26th from 5-7 p.m. at Clark Hill in Old Town. Suggested donation is $50 payable to CCBS (Capital Community Bike Share). Charter Memberships start at $100 and Sponsorships start at $250. Help us with this historic Placemaking project in Lansing --the first Bike Share city in Michigan! We have additional materials on the program to share with you, your group or business upon request. Michigan Avenue from City Hall to Frandor and Old Town to REO Town is the pilot area. Charter Members and Sponsors will be specially recognized at the event and on the web site. A2B Bikeshre, a Michigan start-up in Ann Arbor will lease the pilot system of 20 smart bikes and 40 dumb racks. Published: Thu, Jun 20, 2013
