Law student is summer associate at Brinks
Michigan State University School of Law student Briana Emerson has joined the Ann Arbor office of Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione as a summer associate.
Emerson holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Detroit Mercy, where she graduated magna cum laude, served as treasurer of the Kappa Beta Gamma sorority and was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. She is vice president of Delta Theta Phi, a member of the Intellectual Property Law Society and a member of the Women's Law Caucus.
Her job as a summer intern involves assisting with researching various patent issues, conducting prior art and patentability searches, preparing internet agreements and drafting letters regarding patent and trademark office actions.
Emerson's expected graduation is May 2014.
