Treasure of Detroit Gala & Reunion Celebration planned for Sept. 27-28
Wayne State University Law School, Wayne Law Board of Visitors, and Wayne Law Alumni Association have announced the 2013 Treasure of Detroit Gala and Reunion Celebration Weekend for Friday, Sept. 27, and Saturday, Sept. 28.
Since 1998, the Treasure of Detroit has been Wayne Law's premiere event to honor the brightest lights in the legal profession and to celebrate the growth and success of the law school.
Wayne Law alumni and friends are invited to reconnect with classmates and faculty members and be a part of honoring colleagues who have made a lasting contribution to the practice of law.
The weekend will begin with a reunion reception from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, in the Ford Field Hall of Legends, 2000 Brush St. in Detroit. Tickets are $50 and the evening includes hors d'oeuvres, open bar, and dancing. Complimentary parking will be available in the Ford Field Parking Deck.
The following classes will be honored: 1943, 1948, 1953, 1958, 1963, 1968, 1973, 1978, 1983, 1988, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008, and 2013.
The Treasure of Detroit Gala will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, in the Atheneum Suite Hotel International Banquet Center, 400 Monroe St. in Detroit. Tickets are $150 and the optional black tie evening includes open bar, plated dinner, and awards program. Valet parking is included and discounted hotel accommodations are available. This year's honorees have yet to be announced.
For tickets to either or both events, visit go.wayne.edu/treasure2013. Reservation deadline is Monday, Sept. 23. For additional details, call 313-577-3113 or email lawalumni@wayne.edu.
