Brian D. Einhorn sworn in as State Bar president

 Brian D. Einhorn has been sworn in as the 79th president of the State Bar of Michigan.

 
Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Robert P. Young Jr. officiated at the Sept. 19 ceremony. The swearing-in took place in conjunction with the SBM Annual Meeting at the Lansing Center.
 
Einhorn is a founding partner of Collins, Einhorn, Farrell where he focuses his practice on insurance coverage and professional liability. 
 
Also sworn in as officers for 2013-2014 were President-Elect Thomas C. Rombach; Vice-President Lori A. Buiteweg; Secretary Lawrence P. Nolan; and Treasurer Donald G. Rockwell.
 
Einhorn will lead an organization of more than 43,000 members that works to improve the administration of justice, promotes the legal profession, and builds public understanding of our legal system. He has been involved in State Bar work for almost a decade and has served on many of its committees and groups. He was elected to the SBM Board of Commissioners in 2004 and has served as treasurer, secretary, vice president, and president-elect. He has also a served as president of the Association of Defense Trial Counsel, vice president of the Mediation Tribunal Association, and as a board member of the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association.
 
During his presidential year, Einhorn said he hopes to stress the importance of transparency in judicial campaign funding and increase confidence in the legal process.
 
“I have a high respect for lawyers and what we do, and I plan to work hard to increase respect for the legal system and the profession,” Einhorn said. “Focusing on transparency in judicial campaign financing is an important start.”
