While in law school, she interned with Judge Timothy Connors and Fink Law in Dexter, worked at Cooley’s 60 Plus Elderlaw Clinic, and is a repeat member of the Washtenaw Inns of Court. What did your mother always tell you? “Everyone puts their pants on one leg at a time.”
What would you be if not a lawyer? A professional quilter.
What would you do with an extra room in your house? I’d have a sewing room.
What’s your favorite local hangout? Nickels Arcade.
What’s the hardest part about job hunting in this dismal market? Finding myself in competition with people who have 10-plus years experience, or retirees who want to come back to work.
Do you ever wish you hadn’t gone to law school? Only while studying for the bar exam! No, really, I'm very glad I did it. Law school has been a huge accomplishment. Plus, lawyers are nice people to get to know.
What’s your greatest achievement? Re-inventing myself.
Which three people, living or dead, would you invite to dinner? Any of my grandmothers and great-grandmothers, to hear their stories again.
Who is your favorite character of fiction? Eve Dallas.
Favorite movie: “Arsenic and Old Lace.” And anything on AMC.
Favorite law-related movie: “To Kill a Mockingbird.”
What’s your motto? “On the other side of fear lies freedom.”
What is your favorite clothing? Frye boots and jeans.
What is your idea of perfect happiness? Anywhere I lose track of time because I'm enjoying what I'm doing.
What is your biggest fear? Regret.
What trait do you hate most in yourself? Second guessing myself and over thinking everything.
What trait do you hate most In others? Dishonesty.
What is the most overrated virtue? Charisma. People get blinded by it. But what's behind it?
What phrase do you most overuse? “Ummmm…”
Who do you most admire? My Aunt Francy, the most humble, kind, giving person I have ever met.
Where do you want to be when you’re 90? Holding my husband's hand, walking on a beach.
