Comerica Bank offers grants for high school baseball, softball teams

AUBURN HILLS (AP) -- Comerica Bank is offering two $10,000 grants to high school baseball or softball teams to help create, expand or improve programs.
It's the fourth consecutive year for the Grand Slam Grant program. Plans for this year's grants recently were announced at Comerica's Auburn Hills office during the Detroit Tigers' winter caravan.
Comerica plans to award the grants to one public high school from southeast Michigan and another in the central or West Michigan region.
The grant recipients will be recognized on the field at Comerica Park prior to the Detroit Tigers game April 5 against the Baltimore Orioles.
In addition to the grant, each winning school will also get game tickets. The application deadline is Feb. 7.
Details are posted online at www.comerica.com/grandslamgrant.
