Judges, attorneys participate in Mentor Mingle

The Women’s Bar Association (WBA), Oakland County region of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, along with the Cooley Women Lawyers Student Group and the Thomas M. Cooley Career and Professional Development Office hosted an annual Mentor Mingle on Thursday, Jan. 30, at the Auburn Hills campus of Cooley.

Among those taking part in the event were (left to right) Jill Krolikowski of Lynch & Batalucco; Kaitlin Brown of Kitch, Drutchas, Wagner, Vallituti, & Sherbrook PC; Bloomfield Hills attorney Shannon Smith; WBA Recording Secretary Erin Klug of Gifford, Krass, Sprinkle, Anderson, & Citkowski PC; Karen Wentz; Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Phyllis McMillen; Gail Storck of Law Offices of Storck & Dinverno; WBA President-Elect Ryan Kelly of Kelly & Kelly PC; Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Shalina Kumar; Cooley Career and Professional Development Coordinator Alana Glass; WBA Treasurer Kristen Pursley of  The Dobrusin Law Firm PC; and Germese Gee.

“This is a speed-mentoring type of event almost like speed-dating,” Klug explained.  “We have ten mentors—a few judges and attorneys from various professions and areas of law.  We have 30 to 40 mentees and they rotate around for 15 minute increments and get to talk with different attorneys.”
