Company brings 150 engineering jobs to Troy

N.S. International Ltd. announced yesterday that it will consolidate all of its engineering and testing facilities into a single location near Interstate 75 and Big Beaver Road in Troy.
N.S. International expects to invest as much as $6 million to renovate the building it acquired that once housed another Tier 1 supplier, Magna. The building will house all engineering and testing facilities.
"These are exactly the kinds of announcements I enjoy making to my Oakland County residents," Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson said. "The movement of N.S, International creates the high-paying jobs of the knowledge economy that is the future of Oakland County. I congratulate them on their acquisition and wish them much success."
N.S. International makes dashboards and other visual displays for the automotive and motorcycle industries. The Japanese-owned company currently employs about 100. Another 150 engineering and software development and technical jobs are anticipated within the next three years.
"I would like to personally thank Oakland County for the enormous amount of support during this long and detailed search for a new site location," said Joe Bleau, facilities manager for N.S. International. "From providing us with key information on quality of life, economic, geographic and other resources available here in Oakland County to personally supporting us in numerous local city and county meetings, your office assisted us in making the correct decision to remain in Troy."
Mark Adams, a senior business development representative for the Department of Economic Development & Community Affairs, worked closely with the company as did economic development officials from the city of Troy.
