Utility Model Patent in China discussed

The Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association (MIPLA) hosted its February Luncheon featuring guest speaker Tom Moga (center) of Shook, Hardy, & Bacon LLP on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Somerset Inn.

Moga, who spoke on “The Utility Model Patent in China,” was welcomed to the meeting by (left to right) MIPLA Second Vice-President Vichit Chea of Ford Motor Company and MIPLA First Vice-President Christopher Francis of Howard & Howard Attorneys PLLC.

“Today we’re going to be talking about the utility model patent applications in China—why get them, how to get them, strategies to use them in your business, some of their strengths and weaknesses, and how they can be useful in expanding your portfolio and protecting your inventions in China,” Moga said.
