CYBERSPACE SIGHTING: Website to help Michiganders deal with pothole damage

The Michigan Association for Justice recently launched fixyourride.org, a website dedicated to providing information to Michigan drivers who've had their car damaged by a pothole. "Everyone knows how bad the roads are after this terrible winter," said Steve Pontoni, director of communications at MAJ. "We are trying to provide an easy place for drivers to report a pothole, get information on how to get money from the state if they qualify, and let the legislature know their frustration with the current road situation." In Michigan, the state will provide compensation for damage done to a car by a pothole on a state trunkline. The state has 30 days to fix the pothole after it has been reported to them. Damages caused by potholes that were not fixed within those 30 days are eligible for compensation. Visit www.fixyourride.org for more information. Published: Wed, Mar 12, 2014
