Boston law students spend break in Detroit
DETROIT (AP) -- At least four law students from Boston are spending their spring break helping low-income people in the Detroit area.
The students from Boston University law school are working at Michigan Legal Services. The clients are people who are facing foreclosure or other legal problems.
The students are Alexandra Conlon, Devin Conway, Lisa Ann Landry, and Andrew Wallis Trueheart. They're among 62 Boston University law students working for free in many U.S. cities. The school's director of public service says it's great hands-on experience.
Carolyn Goodwin says law students return to school after a week knowing they can make a difference. Students are also working in Boston, Biloxi, Miss., Harlingen, Texas, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Newark, N.J., Portland, Maine, and Kansas City, Mo.
